The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has granted three 5G licenses through the sale of spectrum in the 700MHz and 800MHz bands. The auction generated around NAD28.6 million (US$1.47 million). Mobile providers MTC (Mobile Telecommunications Company) and TN (Telecom Namibia) secured licenses, along with local ISP Loc8 Mobile.

Orange Sierra Leone has introduced a trial 5G service for both postpaid and prepaid mobile users, offering improved speeds, enhanced connectivity, and reduced latency. Initially, this service will be accessible only in the Freetown Central Business District. The operator plans to conduct various usage tests to expand 5G coverage, aiming to boost both fixed wireless access and mobile broadband speeds.

Celtiis, a mobile operator and a subsidiary of ‘Société Béninoise d'Infrastructures Numériques’ (SBIN), has partnered with the German technology firm Oculeus to enhance its wholesale operations. Through the implementation of Oculeus' billing, routing, and wholesale solution, Celtiis will significantly bolster its ability to manage wholesale operations and its network of interconnection partners for voice and messaging services.
