Ethio Telecom has joined hands again with Huawei to launch the 4G LTE advanced mobile service in Ethiopia’s Somali Region.

The project is accomplished within one month and the two companies partnered to finish the installation and commissioning for 56 LTE sites, despite the distance of some sites from the main warehouse in Addis Ababa.

“We worked together with our strategic partner Huawei and finished the difficult task to deploy the 4G LTE advanced in East East region, “said Ethio Telecom CEO Firehiwot Tamiru at the launching event.

Chen Mingliang, CEO of Huawei Technologies Ethiopia said, “Our delivery teams worked day and night to meet the target. Regardless of all the challenges, today we are proud and rejoiced to bring you the best LTE advanced service.”

With over 20 years of engagement in Ethiopia’s development, Huawei currently created over 300 jobs and benefited over 45.8 million people with its services and products. Huawei also supported Ethio Telecom recently to provide the 4G LTE Service in the North-Western part of Ethiopia.
