To support the accelerated execution of their Ambition 2025 strategy, MTN Group announced the appointment of new CEOs for operations in Cameroon, Rwanda and Uganda effective 1 September 2022.

Having recently been awarded the 2600MHz Time Division Duplex (TDD) spectrum and proceeding with an extensive rollout plan, Orange Egypt will deploy the Ericsson Antenna System to build a 2600MHz network that will improve coverage, capacity, and throughput. With better wind load, lesser weight, and high port count integration, the Ericsson antennas are also set to help Orange Egypt significantly reduce operational site expenses.

The EllaLink international submarine cable in Praia, Cape Verde, went live. Safaricom and Visa have unveiled a new virtual card, called M-PESA GlobalPay, that enables customers in Kenya to shop using their mobile money account at more than 100 million merchants across 200 countries through Visa’s global network. This will both open e-commerce opportunities for M-PESA customers and make it easier for Kenyans when travelling abroad.
