Opportunity2030: The Standard Chartered (www.SC.com) SDG Investment Map reveals a USD197 billion opportunity for private-sector investors in five high-growth markets in Africa to help achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with improving digital access making up USD74.5 billion of that total.

Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of the Chinese telecom giant and daughter of its founder Ren Zhengfei, was detained in the Canadian city on a US warrant in late 2018. Her arrest put the 47-year-old at the center of the US and China's battle over Huawei's growing global reach. Hearings into whether she can be extradited to the United States will begin on January 20 in Vancouver, in a case with potential repercussions for ties between the US, China and Canada.

Mike ven den Bergh, Chief Global Strategy and Marketing Officer, PCCW Global was one of the keynote speakers at the 13th edition of Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit. During his presentation, he highlighted the journey of PCCW Global and how it transformed from a legacy carrier to a technology company.

Mr. Toni Eid, founder of Telecom Review and CEO of Trace Media, and Mr. Hatem Dowidar, CEO, Etisalat International took part in a debate this morning at Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit 2019. The topic of the discussion was '5G serving societies'.

With around 600 attendees, the 13th edition of Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit kicked off today at the Meydan Hotel in Dubai. This edition attracted the ICT industry’s most influential leaders who convened to discuss the changes that happened in the industry since the 12th edition which was held in Beirut in March 2019 and the 11th edition which was held a year ago in Dubai.

On the evening of December 10, and as a wrap up to the 13th edition of Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit 2019, Telecom Review organized the 8th edition of its Excellence Awards ceremony where every year, industry leaders are recognized for what they have accomplished during the year.
