MTN GlobalConnect has successfully facilitated Group Vivendi Africa's acquisition of subsea capacity from the 2Africa subsea fiber cable. This cable system spans 45,000km and offers a capacity of 180 terabits per second (Tbps), providing much-needed additional international capacity for internet and other services to serve the African continent. This development will increase GVA's capacity and diversify its West African operations, in line with its growth plan for the region.

The enhanced subsea capacity of the 2Africa cable system will provide high-speed internet delivery and greater diversity, resulting in significant benefits for businesses and individuals across Africa. The partnership between MTN GlobalConnect and GVA will contribute to creating a better-connected future for Africa. Frédéric Schepens, CEO of MTN GlobalConnect, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement of this important milestone, stating his confidence in the success of the partnership.
