Cell C has announced the appointment of Melanie Forbes as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective August 1, 2023. Forbes brings over 25 years of extensive experience in the Telecommunications, IT and Consumer Electronics industries, having worked with renowned brands such as Philips, NetFlorist (NetActive), Siemens, Nokia (NSN) and, most recently, Vodacom. Her background spans both B2B and B2C markets across various African markets.

During her 15-year tenure at Vodacom, Forbes held key executive positions, showcasing her prowess in driving impactful initiatives in commercialization, governance & operationalization, products & services, P&L management, regional operations, brand management and marketing. She played a crucial role in shaping the brand's strategy and was instrumental in the successful rebranding efforts from blue to red.

As the Managing Executive for Consumer Marketing, Insights & Research at Vodacom, Forbes spearheaded impactful and successful summer campaigns and developed segmented propositions that drove growth across consumer segments.

Melanie Forbes' passion for improving people's lives through technology, human-centric design, and behavioral science principles resulted in the development of various digital platforms that positively impact people's lives today.
