Tesla is set to release its 2023 holiday update next week, featuring several notable changes. A notable enhancement now allows Tesla vehicles to automatically dial 911 when airbags deploy in the event of a crash. The update also includes support for Apple Podcasts, Bluetooth headset compatibility with rear screens, an enhanced version of park assistance with 3D visuals, and new blind spot indicators. The addition of Apple Podcasts complements the existing Apple Music integration introduced last year. Tesla owners will now be able to sync podcasts with their Apple devices.

Furthermore, the update allows all light shows to be read from a single storage drive, eliminating the need for separate USB sticks. However, despite the addition of B-pillar cameras to the Tesla app's Live Sentry view, they will not record events for Dashcam and Sentry Mode. These updates were announced following a complaint on social media, prompting Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, to acknowledge the need for improvement. Previous holiday updates from Tesla have introduced significant features such as Steam integration and popular apps like TikTok and Sonic the Hedgehog. This year's gaming updates include the addition of the tower defense game Castle Doombad and rear-screen gaming, a decision that avoids potential regulatory issues.
